We've written the first chapter of a very LONG book!

Aug 9, 2009

We have been married for one year! It has gone incredibly fast!!! Here is a quick rundown of the past 12 months!

August - We were sealed on the 9th in the Houston Temple. We honeymooned in Fredericksburg, TX

September – David started his first semester at A&M as an Agricultural Economics major - he had his 24th birthday!

October – We dressed the part of the Clue characters Mr Green and Miss Scarlet with a group of our friends for Halloween – Cheylee accepted a job with Bryan High for Spring semester as an IPC teacher

November – Thanksgiving at the Lyman’s house – David got the honor of carving the Turkey! (And was closely monitored by everyone in the house. It was his first time to carve a turkey)

December – Cheylee graduated with her BS in Biology –We were pleased to have a new niece, Lyndia, and our first Christmas together!

January – New Years Celebration at the Lyman's house! 2009... The start of our first full year together!

February – Our first Valentine’s Day as a married couple – we went to the Institute dance… notice anything funny about these pictures from 2008 and 2009?

Yup! David wore the SAME shirt both years, despite my protests...

March – We had a FABULOUS Spring Break in South Padre with the Binghams - David was called to serve in the College Station Ward - which we both love!
They are a very serious bishopric... can't you tell?

April – Easter! we watched General Conference in College Station... it seems like every year it gets better and better! Cheylee's best friend Jessica had her baby girl, Rachel, who is absolutely adorable!

May – David left for an internship in Washington DC with the USDA – Cheylee finished up her first semester of teaching

June – Cheylee drove to Leesburg, VA with Trissa, and Dad. We spent a week touring the DC area, and met David’s wonderful Aunt Nancy and her family. Cheylee had her 21st birthday!

July – 4th of July fireworks with the Weidenhamers, Cheylee made a trip to Texas with Tanner (who completely blew out his knee with a nasty ACL tear) then flew back to Virginia

August – We ran a 20K for our first anniversary – 12.4 miles. Our first big run together - hopefully the first of many! Our training was going great until three weeks before the run. Our longest run during training was seven miles. We each hit the wall at around 8 miles. The last four miles were painfully long!

The Weidenhamer kids decided to help David finish the last leg of the race... and he got to carry an American Flag

We have been so blessed! We have thoroughly enjoyed our summer here in Virginia. We love the Weidenhamer family and have become good friends with many people in the Leesburg ward!

We are excited for the birth of a new niece and nephew sometime in the next few weeks. We head back to Texas the 14th and Ryan and Heather will be married on the 21st. We are excited to get back to our own little apartment and see our families again! Dave’s best friend Nick comes home from his mission in Washington State on the 12th of August. Nick and Dave have been friends since before kindergarten and it will be good to see him again. This next year will be an adventure, with Cheylee heading back to teach at Bryan next week and David graduating in May. The next couple of months will be a flurry of job applications for David… who knows where we’ll be a year from now!
