Our Stake had a big Pioneer day celebration in July. It was a breakfast and a fair. They had Kettle Corn, Tug-of-war contests, Pony rides, Watermelon eating contests, handcart rides, snow cones, bouncy house and a waterslide. We were excited to take Bruce and see him enjoy himself, however, our morning had a rough start.
Bruce's bedroom doorknob has a lock on it, which we never thought twice about until he locked himself in and we realized that it needed a key to be opened. I am pretty sure that the apartment complex just 'recycles' random exterior knobs off apartments that people move out of and put them into interior doors. Unfortunately it was 7:00 on a Saturday morning, and there was no way to get maintenance there to open it. The hinges were on the inside of the door, and poor Bruce was screaming and crying for 45 minutes while David used a hammer to bust the doorknob off and opened the door.

| Excited to use a hammer on the doorknob. Such a manly man. |
 |
| Bruce kept sticking his little fingers through this hole crying and crying. Poor boy |
 |
| Traumatized |
 |
| He clung to David for a good 5 minutes before he calmed down |
After our exciting morning, we went to the activity. Bruce had a blast on the water slide with daddy, and also loved the pony ride (he was actually on a horse). I was so glad that he enjoyed the ride, I was afraid that he would want off once it started walking, but he was all smiles. (of course none of the pictures I got show his excitement... oh well)
Poor boy!!! Gemma locked me out of our apartment once and it was so scary. Glad you got him out & had something fun to do later! He looks so cute up there on the horse!
